Duties
- Serve a diverse range of legal documents including subpoenas, summons, eviction notices, restraining orders, child support documents, divorce papers, foreclosure notices, liens, injunctions, criminal and civil complaints, petitions, writs, and trust documents.
- Use mobile data collection software and mobile devices to document service attempts and successful deliveries accurately.
- File proof of service in accordance with procedural law requirements and maintain detailed process serving records management.
- Conduct private investigations as needed to locate individuals or verify addresses for service purposes.
- Scan and organize served documents for record keeping and future reference.
- Communicate professionally with clients and recipients regarding service attempts or issues encountered during delivery.
- Follow all procedural laws and ethical standards related to process serving while maintaining confidentiality and professional ethics at all times.
Experience
- Proven experience in process serving or courier services preferred; familiarity with serving legal documents such as subpoenas, summons, notices to quit, eviction notices, and other court-related paperwork is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of procedural law related to service of process across different jurisdictions.
- Strong report writing skills for documenting service attempts accurately and thoroughly.
- Experience using mobile data collection software and mobile devices for record keeping.
- Ability to work independently with excellent time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid personal vehicle for document delivery within designated South Denver areas; reliable transportation is essential.
- Demonstrated professionalism with strong ethical standards when handling sensitive legal documents.
