Assurance Health Indianapolis is a 23-bed short-term inpatient geri-psychiatric hospital located in Indianapolis, Indiana, that focuses on the mental health needs of our senior population. Our dedicated staff provides much needed, highly specialized, and compassionate psychiatric/medical care for our aging population. Pay Rates of up to $45 per hour!

Available Shifts: 12-Hour Night Shifts, 7pm to 7:30am

12-Hour Day Shifts, 7am to 7:30pm

Responsibilities:

  • Observes and supports hospital policy, mission statement, and vision.
  • Complies with hospital expectations regarding ethical behavior and standards of conduct.
  • Complies with federal and hospital requirements in the areas of protected health information and patient privacy.
  • Uses professional judgment to complete nursing care plan consistent with the assessment of patient’s condition and physician’s treatment plans.
  • Evaluates patient’s response to nursing care and modifies or revises treatment plans, in conjunction with other team members and/or contacts physicians as circumstances require.
  • Renders professional nursing care including administering medications, initiating, and maintaining intravenous fluids according to hospital policy and procedures.
  • Identifies problems and reports them director of nursing, physician, or chief clinical officer, as necessary.
  • Admits, transfers and discharges patients.
  • Maintains the standards of accurate and complete recording and reporting. Documents and maintains records and charts, and reports patient’s condition, medications given, and treatments administered to the team members on the following shift; and informs physician of appropriate patient information.
  • Demonstrates and maintains competency in nursing skills and knowledge. Demonstrates age-appropriate competency skills and knowledge, displays ability to perform skills specific to patient population.
  • Participates in hospital safety program. Responsible for knowing the appropriate lifting requirements of the job and requesting assistance when appropriate
  • Supports and enforces infection-control policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a professional approach with confidentiality.
  • Assures protection and privacy of health information as attained through written, electronic, or oral disclosures.
  • Is prompt and efficient with minimal absences.
  • Seeks guidance and remains knowledgeable of, and complies with, all applicable federal and state laws, as well as hospital polices that apply to assigned duties.

  • Ability to function and communicate effectively in team environment, including staff, healthcare providers, and social service providers.
  • Understanding of diverse patient populations and utilization patterns.
  • Excellent organizational skills regarding independently managing workload and related responsibilities.

Licenses:Valid, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Indiana

Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing; though, a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.

Work Experience:New graduates are encouraged to apply for the position; however, those with at least 1-year of experience in either a geriatric or psychiatric care setting are preferred.
