Your Role:
As the Activities Director at Assurance Health, you will:
Develop and Lead Programming:
Provide a daily activities program tailored to the needs and interests of geriatric psychiatric patients.
Plan and Coordinate Activities:
- Group social activities
- Indoor and outdoor activities, including walks
- Community-based and off-site activities
- Spiritual programming and support for worship attendance
- Creative programming (arts, crafts, music, drama, education)
- Exercise and wellness activities
- One-on-one engagement
Engage Patients:
Encourage patient involvement in planning and participation while promoting independence and socialization.
Maintain Compliance and Documentation:
- Develop and post a monthly activity calendar (large print, visible location)
- Document participation, outcomes, and progress notes
- Contribute to individualized care plans and review goals
Collaborate Across Departments:
Coordinate programming with nursing, therapy, and leadership teams.
Support Facility Initiatives:
- Participate in Care Plan meetings
- Serve on Quality Assurance Committee
- Attend Department Head meetings and required in-services
Manage Resources:
Maintain supplies, equipment, and organized storage; assist with budgeting as needed.
Build Community Connections:
Promote family and community involvement through events, communication, and outreach.
Qualifications:
Certification (Required):
Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)
Experience:
1 years of experience in geriatrics or behavioral health, preferred
Skills:
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to engage and motivate geriatric patients
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills
