Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable maintenance worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the school's buildings and grounds are clean, safe, functional, and welcoming to all visitors, staff, and families. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
The ideal candidate is a "can fix anything" type of person who enjoys a variety of hands-on tasks and takes pride in caring for a Catholic school community.
Duties
- Performs routine building maintenance and minor repairs
- Completes classroom and building updates using a variety of tools and equipment.
- Assists with painting, carpentry, and basic plumbing or electrical repairs as needed
- Performs routine maintenance and inspections in classrooms, gym, and other areas in the school.
- Set up and take down tables, chairs, and equipment for school and parish events.
- Monitors and maintains supplies for cleaning, repairs, or contracted maintenance services.
- Ensures compliance with safety regulations and promptly addresses hazards in the building, playground, and other outdoor areas.
- Assists with the building security and proper door maintenance.
- Reports any major maintenance issues or repairs promptly.
- Follows safety protocols and guidelines while using tools and equipment.
Experience
- Previous maintenance experience is preferred, but not required.
- Familiarity with fixing broken items, appliances, school related furniture (desks, chairs, etc.) is a plus.
- Attention to detail and pride in repairing, updating, and maintaining the school property and grounds
- Experience working in a school setting or around children is preferred.
- A background in facilities maintenance will be considered an asset.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
