Are you passionate about education and dedicated to nurturing the Catholic faith in young minds? Assumption High School, an affiliate of Scott County Catholic Schools (SCCS), is seeking faith-centered, hard-working, caring, enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of students. We are seeking a qualified Band Director. This position will co-teach 5-8 Band at St. Joan of Arc Catholic School in conjunction with the responsibilities at Assumption High School.
Multi-discipline certification is attractive to us, but not a requirement for consideration. Opportunities for full and part-time positions exist. Openness to and experience with coaching and/or advising of student clubs is also a plus for interested candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

Private lessons and ensemble rehearsals for 5-8 grades, co-taught with choir teacher.

Marching Band (non-competitive), Concert Band, Jazz Band, Pep Band, Pit Orchestra, and Private Lessons for 9-12 students. Previous community engagements included the Davenport Halloween and Veteran's Day parades.

Participation in Iowa High School Music Association and Southeast Iowa Bandmasters Association events such as All State, Solo and Ensemble, Large Group Contest, and Honor Bands.

Opportunity to teach Dual Enrollment Music Appreciation through EICC with appropriate qualifications.

Current 2026-2027 high school band enrollment is over 70 students.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the Catholic faith and educational standards.
- Create a positive and nurturing classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience and promote a sense of community.
- Participate in school events and activities.
- Provide guidance and support to students in their academic and spiritual journey.
Qualifications:
- Valid Iowa Teaching License with appropriate endorsement(s) and approval(s)
- Desire to be an active part of a vibrant, faith-based educational environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Passion for working with students and building relationships
