Qualifications:
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-15 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
- Collaborating with senior or executive leadership about administrative functions, legal, or regulatory requirements; AND
- Leading others to organizational changes, improving and enhancing operations, program services, or delivery; AND
- Working with Federal Housing Administration (FHA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Government-sponsored enterprises (GSE), or other related mortgage industry organizations; AND
- Experience working in a single family mortgage field.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. As a/an Housing Program Officer, you will:
- Lead teams in the development of policy, procedures and other guidance on complex single family mortgage insurance and related programs, tracking work progress and status, estimating and reporting on work completion, responding to and assisting with technical issues and problems, and identifying and reporting on program performance and training needs for both HUD staff and industry partners.
- Utilize managerial or administrative expertise to solve difficult or unusual program problems that are not readily resolved by normal methods and procedures.
- Provide timely expert advice and guidance to the office director on policy issues, while assisting the director in solving programmatic problems.
