This position is located in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Asst Secretary for Community Planning and Development.
Washington D.C. is a potential duty location for this position; however, the Washington D.C. office is expected to relocate to Alexandria, Virginia. Selectees may be required to report initially to Washington, D.C and later report to Alexandria, Virginia.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service.Specialized Experience for this position includes:
- Developing or modifying regulations, notices, policies, guidance or instructions that implement statutory requirements for the Economic Development Initiative (EDI)/Congressional Grants; AND
- Managing projects and leading teams.
Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14 you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

This position is located in the Office of Community Planning and Development (CPD). CPD seeks to develop viable communities by promoting integrated approaches that provide decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expand economic opportunities for low and moderate-income persons. The primary means toward this end is the development of partnerships among all levels of government and the private sector, including for-profit and non-profit organizations.
As a Supervisory CPD Specialist, you will:
- Develop concepts and approaches to assessing performance outcomes for the assigned program areas.
- Monitor and evaluates recipients of CPD programs and other grants for the assigned program areas through a team of specialists assigned to geographic responsibilities. This process requires planning, scheduling, conducting on or off-site reviews, analyzing information, coordinating, and leading group activities and recommending subsequent actions.
- Assist the Division Director in providing ongoing oversight and policy direction to the CPD specialists on assigned programs and funds authorized for economic or community development.
- Respond through the Division Director to complex and frequently sensitive written and oral inquiries from grantees, all levels of government, and the private sector, and written inquiries from Congress.
