JOB TITLE: Typhoon Halong ANC Family Support Coordinator DIVISION: Family Services
REPORTS TO: WDD Division Director POSITION STATUS: Temporary Non-Exempt, Full-Time
JOB CLASS: 6 APPROVED: October 2025
SUMMARY: The Anchorage Family Support Specialist will work in a team setting to help identify families in the Anchorage area who have been displaced due to Typhoon Halong. This position will track their needs and connect them to resources.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: Including the following and other duties as assigned.
- Work closely, in a team-oriented environment, with volunteers, AVCP program staff, managers, and Directors, and community partners.
- Develop tracking spreadsheets for displaced families and evacuees in Anchorage and surrounding communities who are from the AVCP region and were displaced by Typhoon Halong.
- Assist with efforts to reach all families who are displaced and organize and maintain detailed records of where these families are temporarily relocated.
- Develop case management system to ensure regular/routine interaction with families to identify and support ongoing needs.
- Assist families with energy assistance, cash assistance, donation support and any other needs related to the storm including relocation needs, identification SSI and other government paperwork needs, child care, behavioral health etc.
- Assist with the coordination of donation efforts when needed to ensure the families displaced in the Anchorage area have access to and receive their share of the donations available to meet their need.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of client information.
Requirements

EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED required, BA preferred. At least 3 years of work experience supporting families in a social services capacity. Experience working with families and Tribes in the AVCP region preferred.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours as needed.
- Basic knowledge in using a computer, and Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook E-Mail, and Word.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in team setting.
Must be highly organized and an independent worker.
