What are the responsibilities and job description for the Faith Community Shelter Coordinator position at Association of Faith Communities?
The Association of Faith Communities (AFC) is an inter-faith organization made up of almost 40 faith communities in Santa Cruz County that work together to relieve suffering for those experiencing homelessness. For the last ten years, AFC has run the Faith Community Shelter (FCS), a nightly rotating shelter for 15-20 individuals. FCS is hosted by local faith communities that open up their buildings for an evening. Volunteers prepare dinner and eat with shelter members, fostering community and connection. FCS Coordinators oversee the daily operations of the shelter, ensuring that it remains a safe and stable place for its members.
AFC is looking for a detail-oriented, reliable and caring individual to work as one of our Coordinators. The role plays an essential part in shelter operations by ensuring shelter members safely enter the shelter and volunteers are welcomed with clear instructions.
