Production Editor

Compensation: $27.88/hr – $32.69/hr

Location: Primarily remote, with 1-2 days per week at our downtown Austin, TX office.

The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) is the world’s largest anti-fraud organization and a global leader in anti-fraud training and certification.

The Production Editor is a key member of the ACFE’s educational production team, responsible for editing, proofreading, and formatting a wide range of professional content, including books, manuals, course materials, and training resources. In this role, you will collaborate with internal teams and subject matter experts to develop high-quality educational materials, ensuring consistency with the ACFE’s style guide and standards.

Essential Functions:

1. Developmentally edits new material in collaboration with Research Specialists and external SMEs.
2. Copyedits, proofreads, and formats material for ACFE books, manuals, in-person and virtual training events, web-based products, self-study courses, and speaker materials for conferences.
3. Assists in and supports the creation of content for ACFE course material, self-studies, manuals, books, online courses, and other publications, including providing minor rewrites as necessary.
4. Uses and adheres to the ACFE’s educational style guide when editing and formatting all material.
5. Develops, maintains, and promotes effective internal and external relationships and works collaboratively with other ACFE employees and members.
6. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements:

1. 3–5 years of previous editorial experience.
2. BA/BS in English, Communications, or a related field a plus.
3. Proficient usage of English grammar, syntax, and punctuation.
4. Experience and familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style.
5. Proven skills in organizing work, attending to detail, taking direction, managing time effectively, and handling multiple tasks in a timely manner.
6. Skills in collaborating with internal and external resources.
7. Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
8. Experience using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
9. Experience using virtual event platforms, such as ON24, a plus.
