What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Association Manager position at Association Management Concepts?
About Us
At Association Management Concepts (AMC), we're a Sacramento based business growing fast — and we’re on a mission to build vibrant, harmonious communities through exceptional service. We take pride in our collaborative, people-first culture and are looking for smart, motivated professionals who want to grow with us.
Why Join AMC?
- Growth Opportunities: We’re expanding rapidly and promote from within.
- Team-Driven Culture: You’ll have admin, accounting, and leadership support — so you can focus on what you do best.
- Ongoing Training: Whether you’re new to HOAs or a seasoned pro, we invest in your professional development.
- Make an Impact: Be the go-to advisor for boards and residents — not just another community association manager.
What You'll Do
As a Community Association Manager, you’ll be the community manager for a Sacramento-based community with 593 doors. Your mission? Keep the community running smoothly, the board well-informed, and the residents happy. You’ll be part strategic partner, part problem-solver, and part community builder. This is an onsite role.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Act as the main point of contact for Board members and homeowners
- Lead vendor oversight, contract renewals, and maintenance walkthroughs
- Manage construction projects, budgets, and architectural requests
- Draft newsletters, board packets, and bid proposals
- Prepare and guide board meetings (evenings required)
- Monitor financials, assist with budget creation, and review invoices
- Ensure community files and records are organized and up to date
- Stay on top of California HOA laws, industry trends, and best practices
What We’re Looking For
We're open to a range of backgrounds. If you’re organized, proactive, and comfortable working with people from all walks of life — we’ll teach you the rest. Due to our current need, I think we should change this to focus on experienced tenured managers looking for upward mobility in a company. Looking for someone who is looking to take on a larger role in the company, be challenged, cultivate community managers, and seek a larger salary.
Must-haves:
- Excellent communication (written and verbal)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Positive, team-oriented attitude
- Confidence leading meetings and working independently
- Willingness to attend 2 evening board meetings per week on average
- Mastery of Microsoft Office (especially Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Reliable transportation
Bonus points if you have:
- 2 years of experience working as a Community Association Manager
- Current Community Association Manager certification (CACM or CAI)
- Working knowledge of California HOA regulations (DavisStirling Act)
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher
