The Association for Accessible Medicines (AAM) is seeking a Senior Director, Federal Government Affairs to join our team. This is an invaluable opportunity to work at a dynamic trade association at the center of some of the most important public policy issues facing our nation. The working environment is high-energy, fast-paced and the culture is entrepreneurial.
AAM’s team works a hybrid work schedule, spending two to three days a week in our Washington, DC office.
About the Role:
In this high-impact role, the Senior Director, Federal Government Affairs will lead a portfolio of government relations initiatives to advance the interests of AAM and our member companies before Congress, the Administration, and the White House. The Senior Director will collaborate across the organization to shape AAM’s advocacy blueprint and turn high-level strategy into tangible legislative wins.
Responsibilities include:
· Strategic Federal Advocacy: Lobby Congress and the Executive Branch on a robust portfolio of federal policy issues, championing the priorities of generic and biosimilar manufacturers and safeguarding patient access to affordable medicines.
· Relationship Building & Management: Cultivate, expand, and leverage high-level relationships with key Congressional committees, offices, and administration officials.
· Industry Thought Leadership: Position AAM as the premier, go-to authority and thought leader on Capitol Hill for all issues impacting the generic and biosimilar sector.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with internal government affairs staff and cross-departmental teams to design, align, and execute comprehensive advocacy campaigns.
Candidates need to have a bachelor’s degree paired with 8 years of professional experience in government, government relations, Capitol Hill, or the Administration. Experience in health care policy and/or understanding of the pharmaceutical supply chain is required.

AAM offers a competitive salary and benefits package including health, disability, and life insurance as well as 401k match. Salary range: $175,000 - $225,000 plus bonus.
