We are a friendly, patient-centered Podiatry practice seeking a reliable, good natured Receptionist who is interested in also being trained as a Medical Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and wants to build a long-term career in healthcare. We pride ourselves on great patient care and maintaining positivity in the office. Medical office experience is not required for the candidate with the right personality and mind-set.
Position Overview:
You will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing a warm and welcoming experience at the front desk. Over time, you will be trained to assist the physician and clinical staff with back-office medical assistant duties.
Front Office Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and create a positive first impression
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, handle paperwork and manage patient flow
- Verify insurance and collect co-pays
- Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and staff
Medical Assistant Training & Responsibilities:
- Room patients and obtain basic medical histories
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments
- Perform basic clinical tasks as trained (vitals, dressings, etc.)
- Support clinical workflow and patient care
Qualifications:
- Friendly, dependable, and professional demeanor
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a busy office
- Proficiency with computers
- Willingness to learn clinical skills and grow with the practice
- Prior customer service experience is desirable
Weekly Schedule:
- Monday 7:30am to 5:30pm
- Tuesday 7:00am to 3:30pm
- Wednesday 7:30am to 12:00pm
- Thursday 7:00am to 5:30pm
- Friday 7:00am to 1:30pm
