Safety Assistant
Location: 5000 Kansas Avenue Kansas City, KS 66106
Department: Corporate Safety
The Safety Assistant will play a critical role in supporting the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) department by ensuring the accuracy, organization, and efficient management of all safety-related data and documentation.
Position Responsibilities:
- Data Management & Accuracy: Assist with the collection, verification, and maintenance of all EHS data to ensure its integrity and reliability.
- System Administration: Serve as the Administrator / Super User for three key safety software systems, including managing user access, configuration, and data input/output.
- Documentation & Policy Support: Aid in organizing and updating essential EHS documentation, including safety programs and policy revisions.
- Training and Compliance Tracking: Manage and track all employee safety training records to ensure compliance and support timely scheduling.
- Reporting: Generate comprehensive reports and analyses of safety data to support EHS management and decision-making.
- Communication & Support: Respond to internal inquiries regarding safety training status, policy locations, and incident data requests. Prepare presentation materials (e.g., PowerPoint/Slides) for EHS management meetings, using data extracted from the safety systems.
- Training Course Development: Utilize Canva Pro to design, develop, and update visually appealing and engaging safety training courses, presentations, and communication materials.
Position Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of two (3) years of demonstrated experience working with complex spreadsheets (e.g., advanced formulas, data validation).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Sheets, Docs).
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work in an organized manner
