Responsibilities
- Work jointly with the Crane Manager to ensure compliance with the companys Maintenance Management System (MMS) for assigned equipment.
- Identify and mitigate hazards to reduce the risk of personal injury or property damage.
- Support and adhere to all safety policies and procedures during maintenance activities.
- Conduct and document pre-use inspections of assigned equipment in collaboration with operations team members.
- Maintain accurate records in the Electronic Maintenance Management System (EMMS) for all maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with the Crane Manager to implement preventative, predictive, and condition-based maintenance schedules.
- Ensure maintenance status boards are current and accurate for all assigned assets.
- Manage inventory of consumable maintenance items, including ordering, receiving, and stocking as required.
- Maintain organized and secure storage areas for maintenance inventory and tools.
- Coordinate with shore-based maintenance personnel and follow up on service requests as needed.
- Investigate downtime events, determine root causes, and document findings as required.
- Troubleshoot and perform or coordinate repairs to assigned assets, working with team members, vendors, and other maintenance personnel.
- Enhance the training of operations team members to ensure proper knowledge of roles and responsibilities.
- Inspect all deck rigging and wire rope as required.
- Maintain and inspect the Marine Sanitation Device (MSD) as needed.
- Develop procedures with the Crane Manager to ensure adherence to maintenance policies and schedules during absences.
- Utilize available downtime to perform pre-use, daily, and scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Assist with monitoring other assets when personnel are on vacation or during scheduled time off.
- Communicate with vendors to request or schedule troubleshooting or repairs as authorized.
- Provide reports as required by the Maintenance department.
- Demonstrate leadership and teamwork, planning and executing tasks safely and efficiently.
- Promote a team-oriented environment and ensure adherence to company policies and operational directives.
- Perform any other tasks as required by the Maintenance Chain of Command.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to use computers, iPads, or Surface Pro devices.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).
- Basic math skills.
- Professional radio communication skills.
- Knowledge of maintenance and troubleshooting for Gottwald Cranes, Hyundai Mobile Equipment, Wintech winch systems, wire rope, rigging, engines, PLCs, and electrical systems.
- Ability to participate in pre-job safety meetings and remain on-site as required.
- Willingness to respond to maintenance activities during the week, including after-hours calls, and work on call as part of a rotation (including holidays and weekends).
- Ability to work at various heights and in confined spaces, utilizing fall arrest systems and harnesses.
- Physically fit to perform essential job functions safely.

Work Environment
- Work in all weather conditions, including hot, cold, and rainy environments.
- Perform duties at different elevations and in areas with varying noise levels (hearing protection may be required).
- Exposure to dust, requiring use of masks or respirators as needed.
- Work around light to heavy equipment, vehicles, materials, and tools.
- Rotational shift work required; may involve working twelve or more hours per day as needed.
- Physical activities include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, typing, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motion.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, eyewear, safety vests, gloves, masks/respirators, and steel-toe boots must be worn as required.
