Medical Lab Technician - MLT - Summary:
- The Clinical Lab Technician collects and processes specimens, performs tests, reports, results, and is responsible for the routine operation of the laboratory.
Medical Lab Technician - MLT - Responsibilities:
- Receives and processes lab orders.
- Provides instructions, prepares patient, collects specimens, and performs testing procedures.
- Performs phlebotomy including adult or pediatric venipunctures, finger sticks or heel sticks. Collects and processes urine and throat cultures.
- Performs chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, immunology, and microbiology testing.
- Processes and verifies laboratory results. Reports test results according to clinic protocols, alerting staff to critical results.
