Associated Medical is a leading New England Durable Medical Equipment company specializing in providing state-of-the-art durable medical equipment to patients undergoing orthopedic procedures to enhance post-operative recovery outcomes, reduce DVT risk, minimize edema and atrophy as well as manage pain.
Role Description
We are seeking patient care representatives with expertise in orthopedics to work with patients in our office, patient homes, surgery centers and rehabilitation facilities in use of medical devices and to follow up with patient’s post-surgery. Successful candidates will have experience in the healthcare field (rehabilitation-related ideal), and must have a reliable car, clean driving record and background report. Depending on the candidate’s experience level, this position will be either a part-time or full-time position. Advancement opportunities exist in both scenarios.
Qualifications
- Assess, fit, and instruct patients in the post-operative use of prescribed durable medical equipment per the physician’s written orders.
- Educate patient on all provided written procedural information relevant to prescribed devices including precautions.
- Complete all necessary medical documentation with patient, instruct in insurance coverage and/or payment options, and obtain signatures
- Complete medical record documentation in a timely and accurate manner
- Abide by BOC standards, HIPPA guidelines and DMEPOS Standards
- Develop strong, ongoing relationships with health care providers to perpetuate and grow partnerships with orthopedic practices and surgery centers.
- Identify, develop, and maintain new business opportunities within the existing customer base as well as new customer prospects.
- Monitor inventory of single patient use items in Surgery Centers and restock as needed.
- Utilize company EMR to receive and process all returning rental DME devices and prepare them for re-use.
- Communicate, in a timely manner, with other professional’s appropriate information to update the plan-of-care, coordinate services, or report adverse responses to treatment
- Embody the professionalism, values, and dedication of the participating health care facility (customer) and Associated Medical.
- Always maintain professional attire and neat appearance
- Clean driving record
Skills:
- PTA/COTA/LPN helpful but not required, other clinical experience considered.
- Solid understanding of the clinical healthcare market.
- Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency of all Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to work independently.
- Reliable car with comprehensive insurance coverage.
- Flexible schedule and availability for on-call hours as required.
- Demonstrated outstanding oral and written communication skills including fluency in the English language.
- Bi-lingual a plus
Experience:
- Minimum of Associates Degree
- PTA/COTA/LPN useful but not required
- Healthcare experience preferred
- Minimum 3 years clinical, previous home health care experience helpful
