Associated Grocers is seeking an experienced and results-driven Category Manager – Meat & Seafood to lead category performance, maximize sales and profitability, and support the evolving needs of our retailers. This position plays a key role in developing strategic vendor partnerships, driving promotional success, and ensuring exceptional product assortment and service levels across the Meat & Seafood category.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Negotiate cost and recommend item, price and quantity needs for all promotional activities.
- Monitor vendor price list and initiate price changes.
- Meet with vendors to discuss new items, deal sheets, price changes and slow moving items.
- Analyze categories for correct product mix.
- Evaluate slow moving items for discontinuing.
- Responsible for procuring and managing the inventory and service levels to meet the needs of the customer and corporate goals.
- Manages freight operations by collaborating with vendors and the internal freight management team to ensure efficient, cost‑effective logistics.
- Monitor inventory positions and ensure corporate turn goals met.
- Work with retail merchandising team to increase sales through current merchandising programs or new programs
- Assist in food show and seminar preparations.
- Assist Retailers with problems.
- Visit stores to improve communication and awareness of retailers’ needs.
- Monitor category profits and sales to meet company goals.
- Work closely with operations personnel to positively impact overall corporate results.
Education and/or Experience
A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required, along with computer skills (Excel, Word), knowledge of perishable meat and seafood products, strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills, and a clean driving record.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and preferably how to use Copilot 365.

Maintain an appropriate motor vehicle record.
