What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Workforce Development position at Associated General Contractors of Ohio?
AGC of Ohio is hiring a Director of Workforce Development to lead workforce strategy across both the state and Central Ohio markets.
We are seeking a program leadership role responsible for building initiatives, forming partnerships, and delivering measurable outcomes that grow the construction workforce pipeline. At the state level (AGC of Ohio), you will lead workforce strategy, industry outreach, and initiatives such as I Build America – Ohio, data sharing, any related digital campaigns and work with our Workforce Development Committee to identify and define best practices and opportunities for AGC of Ohio’s seven divisions. At the local level (Central Ohio), you will build and manage relationships with schools, nonprofits, workforce organizations, and public partners—serving as AGC’s active voice and seat at the table across numerous organizations.
You will:
* Lead and execute workforce initiatives from concept to delivery
* Build meaningful partnerships that may result in real programs
* Develop education and workforce programs aligned with member needs
* Plan and run workforce events (career fairs, outreach, pipeline programs)
* Serve as liaison to universities, training partners, other workforce development partners and the workforce development committee
We are looking for someone who:
* Takes ownership and drives execution
* Builds relationships that produce outcomes
* Can operate independently and deliver results
5 years of experience in workforce, education, program management, or a related field required. Construction industry experience preferred.
