Summary

The Director of Deli is responsible for directing and leading strategic merchandising, sales, and operational programs to drive growth, profitability, and competitive positioning across assigned categories while supporting retail and wholesale performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Directs and leads team in accomplishing strategic objectives within the unit(s). Manages, rewards, and recognizes team. Sets clear goals and objectives, sets performance expectations, and holds accountability of team.
• Directs development and execution of merchandising and sales strategies by analyzing consumer trends, competitive data, and performance metrics to drive growth and profitability across categories.
• Leads category management efforts by establishing assortment strategies, pricing approaches, and promotional initiatives while ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams and external partners to develop programs, align execution, and ensure consistency across retail and wholesale operations.
• Oversees financial performance by developing budgets, monitoring results, and implementing strategies to improve revenue, margins, and operational efficiency.
• Develops and implements measurement frameworks to track performance, identify opportunities, and drive accountability across teams and stakeholders.
• Leads and develops teams by fostering a collaborative culture, providing direction and development, and promoting organizational values and strategic priorities.

Position Requirements

• High school diploma/GED is required; bachelor’s degree in business is preferred.
• 8 years of retail or wholesale experience.
• Strong leadership experience.
• Regular attendance and travel required; personal vehicle use is required.
