Role Description This full-time, on-site Registered Dental Hygienist role is based in Council Bluffs, IA. The hygienist will perform thorough dental cleanings, including dental prophylaxis, periodontal assessments, and nonsurgical periodontal therapy. Daily responsibilities include reviewing medical histories, taking and interpreting radiographs, applying preventive therapies such as fluoride and sealants, and reinforcing patient education on oral hygiene and disease prevention. The role also involves collaborating with dentists and clinical team members on treatment planning, documenting findings in patient records, and maintaining infection control and safety protocols to support high-quality, patient-centered care.
Qualifications
- Strong clinical skills in dentistry and dental care, with general and family dental practice experience.
- Comprehensive hygiene and dental prophylaxis skills, including routine cleanings and preventive procedures.
- Knowledge of periodontal disease, including assessment, documentation, and delivery of appropriate hygiene therapies.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) in Iowa, and CPR/BLS certification.
- Strong communication and patient education skills, with the ability to build trust and explain treatment and home-care instructions clearly.
- Commitment to infection control standards, attention to detail in charting and documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
