Role Description The Caregiver role at Assisting Living is a full-time, on-site position based in Boston, MA. In this role, the Caregiver provides direct support to individuals with daily living activities, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and toileting. The Caregiver helps with meal preparation, feeding as needed, light housekeeping, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. Daily responsibilities include monitoring clients’ well-being, documenting observations, and promptly reporting changes in condition to supervisors or clinical staff. The Caregiver offers companionship, engages clients in appropriate activities, supports transportation to appointments as needed, and follows care plans and safety protocols in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Experience providing direct care or support in a healthcare, assisted living, or home care setting.
- Ability to assist with personal care, mobility support, and safe transfer techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients and families.
- Reliable time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail in documenting care and following care plans.
- Commitment to maintaining client dignity, privacy, and safety, and following infection control and safety procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant caregiver, CNA, or HHA certification is preferred.
- Willingness to work on-site in Boston, MA, including potential evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
- Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods as required for daily caregiving tasks.
