A small, locally owned assisted living community in Jackson, Tennessee is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and outgoing individual to help provide fun, engaging activities for our residents.
This position is ideal for retired teachers, retired nurses, retired healthcare professionals, church staff or volunteers, former activity professionals, retired administrative professionals, or anyone who genuinely enjoys building relationships with older adults.
About the Position
We're looking for someone who enjoys conversation just as much as activities. Our ideal candidate will take the time to get to know each resident by name, learn their interests, and help create an enjoyable, welcoming environment where residents have something to look forward to throughout the week.
This is not a desk job. It's an opportunity to brighten someone's day through friendship, laughter, and meaningful interaction.
Responsibilities
- Lead Bingo and other group games
- Organize arts and crafts, coloring, and painting
- Coordinate ice cream socials and holiday celebrations
- Play cards, board games, and other recreational activities
- Spend time visiting with residents and encouraging participation
- Help decorate for holidays and special events
- Plan and maintain a monthly activity calendar
- Bring new ideas for activities our residents will enjoy
We encourage creativity and welcome fresh ideas to keep residents engaged and entertained.
Schedule
- Approximately 2 hours per day
- 3 to 6 days per week
- Flexible daytime schedule
- Days and times will be planned in advance so residents know when activities will be held.
