Duties
- Provide attentive supervision and care for children across various age groups, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary school-age children
- Plan and implement engaging activities that promote childhood development, learning, creativity, and social skills
- Ensure the safety of children by adhering to proper child supervision protocols and behavior management strategies
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to share updates on their child's progress, needs, and any concerns
- Assist with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, nap times, and hygiene practices in accordance with best practices for early childhood education
- Support children with disabilities by adapting activities and providing inclusive care tailored to individual needs
- Follow mandated reporting laws to report any signs of neglect or abuse promptly and appropriately
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in settings such as daycare centers, babysitting, nannying, or youth programs
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education techniques
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; ongoing training preferred
- Experience caring for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary school-age children is essential
- Ability to plan age-appropriate activities that foster learning and socialization
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with parents and team members
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies and inclusive caregiving practices for children with disabilities or special needs
- Understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare
