What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paratransit Driver position at Assist to Transport?
A Para-transit driver is a person who, under the supervision of a manager, supervisor, dispatcher or trainer, operates a van over routes transporting clients to and from designated locations. May work with disruptive or assultive passengers. Drivers may also work with severely handicapped individuals.
Duties:
· Drive a Van daily over designated routes in accordance with time schedules, loading and unloading clients at designated locations.
· Perform daily inspections of Vans and associated equipment prior to transportation of passengers.
· Maintain good order and discipline among passengers or clients.
· Follow company policies regarding client management and relations with passengers, medical practitioners, medical facilities, and the public in general.
· Keep records and submit reports as required.
· Refuel vans as required.
· Report all mechanical deficiencies in writing promptly.
· Conduct safe riding instruction as directed.
· All other duties as assigned.
· State of Wisconsin Class D Commercial Drivers License
· Demonstrated proficiency in the operation of assigned vehicles including extra equipment such as wheelchair lifts under all road and weather conditions.
· High School Diploma or the equivalent
· Must be at least 21 years of age with 3 years driving experience
