Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Apartment Manager to oversee the daily operations of our residential properties. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of Fair Housing regulations, and the ability to maintain positive relationships with residents and staff. This role requires a proactive approach to property management, ensuring that all aspects of the apartment community are running smoothly and efficiently.
Duties
- Manage all aspects of property operations, including leasing, maintenance, and tenant relations.
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations and other relevant laws.
- Handle legal administrative tasks related to contracts and tenant agreements.
- Negotiate lease terms and renewals with prospective and current tenants.
- Maintain accurate records through data entry and filing systems using OneSite software.
- Oversee property maintenance activities, ensuring timely repairs and upkeep of the premises.
- Address tenant inquiries and concerns promptly, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
- Conduct regular inspections of the property to ensure standards are met.
- Collaborate with maintenance staff to coordinate repairs and improvements.
Experience
- Proven experience in property management or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with Fair Housing regulations and legal aspects of property management is essential.
- Proficient in using property management software such as OneSite for data entry and record keeping.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on professional phone etiquette.
- Experience in property maintenance or familiarity with maintenance processes is a plus.
- Manages the compliance aspects of affordable housing programs, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC).
