Role Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance and Shipping Coordinator to join our team. This dual-role position is critical to our operations, bridging the gap between production quality and final delivery. You will be responsible for conducting inspections to ensure products meet strict specifications, while also managing the packaging, documentation, and logistics required to get our products to customers on time.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Inspection
- Conduct Inspections: Perform in-process and final inspections using calipers, pin gauges, multi-meters, and other measuring instruments to ensure compliance with customer and internal specifications. Utilizing customer prints and standard operating procedures.
- Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret schematics, industrial drawings, and work instructions to verify product accuracy (wire harnesses, cable assemblies, coils/windings & other electronic components).
- Documentation: Accurately document test results, non-conformances, and quality issues. Prepare reports to identify trends and support the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Process Improvement: Assist in the development, standardization, and maintenance of inspection procedures. Provide constructive feedback on root causes to prevent recurrence.
Shipping & Logistics
- Packaging: Securely package finished goods, build skids, and prepare materials for transport to prevent damage.
- Documentation Management: Generate packing lists, Certificates of Origin & Compliance, and testing documentation.
- Logistics Coordination: Coordinate freight and transportation logistics to ensure timely delivery.
- Material Handling: Safely operate a forklift, pallet jack, and carts to transport materials between the shop floor, quality department, and shipping dock.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 1–2 years in a Quality Control/Assurance role, preferably in manufacturing. Experience with wire harness fabrication is highly preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with basic measurement tools (calipers, rules, gauges) and a solid understanding of fractions, decimals, and tolerancing.
- Computer Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel). Experience with JobBoss or similar ERP software is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving skills and excellent verbal/written communication.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs and manual dexterity for detailed inspections.
- Certifications: Ability to operate (or learn to operate) a forklift.
