Assabet Community Education is seeking a passionate Spanish Language Instructor to lead courses for adult learners. Our students come from diverse backgrounds with various reasons for learning Spanish—from business and travel to connecting with family. The ideal candidate will be an engaging and adaptable teacher who can create a supportive learning environment focused on practical, real-world communication.
What you’ll do
- Develop and teach dynamic, interactive lesson plans tailored for adult students with varying proficiency levels.
- Design and utilize a range of teaching materials, including textbooks, real-world texts, and digital resources, to facilitate language acquisition.
- Incorporate cultural context into lessons to provide students with a deeper understanding of Spanish-speaking countries and communities.
- Assess student progress through a variety of methods and provide constructive feedback to help students achieve their language goals.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and builds confidence.
- Adapt teaching methods to address different learning styles and needs.
- Maintain open communication with program administrators and colleagues.
Qualifications
- Native or near-native fluency in Spanish
- Proficiency in English.
- Proven experience teaching Spanish to adult learners.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills..
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $38.00 - $45.00 per hour
