Product Technician

Amarr Garage Doors, a part of ASSA ABLOY – the global leader in access solutions, is seeking a skilled and motivated Product Technician to support our product development and testing initiatives. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving practical problems, working with mechanical systems, and contributing to product innovation.

What You’ll Do:

• Conduct testing of components under operational conditions to support design improvements and quality control.
• Create technical drawings including elevation, track, job shop, and part diagrams.
• Plan and execute product testing and evaluation, including wind load testing.
• Maintain and analyze research data to support product development.
• Collaborate with manufacturers to resolve product and system issues.
• Investigate and validate field complaints and warranty claims.
• Provide dealer training and support in a classroom setting.
• Assist in evaluating vendor quality and Bill of Materials accuracy.
• Support layout reviews for warehouse and office spaces.
• Manage documentation for cycle-tested products and custom item part numbers.

What You Bring:

• Associate’s degree in Drafting and Design or relevant garage door industry experience.
• Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and using AutoCAD (2007 or higher).
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel 2010).
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to install garage doors and work in non-climate-controlled environments.
• Comfortable with extended periods on your feet and walking distances up to 200 feet.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and using hand/power tools with manual dexterity.
