Reporting directly to the Profit Center General Manager, you will spearhead product improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and develop new products. This position will sit onsite full-time in Berlin, CT.
What you will be doing
- Develop, document, and improve manufacturing processes
- Develop quality plans for products
- Develop and implement corrective action based on root cause analysis
- Develop lean manufacturing procedures, reduce product lead time, promote visual factory environment
- Plan, commission and maintain machine and assembly production lines
- Lead quality improvement efforts through training, communication and implementation of new processes
- Manage equipment purchase and installation
- Prepare manufacturing documentation
- Coordinate projects
- Work closely with internal and external customers, as well as vendors to resolve issues and provide technical support
- Key member of Product Design Team, working with Design Engineers to develop and introduce new products
- Establish and maintain cellular layouts
- Lead and direct meetings with other team members and hourly associates
What we are looking for
- Manufacturing Engineer with 3-5 year’s experience preferred. Will consider recent graduates with solid intern experience.
- BS in Mechanical Engineering and/or Manufacturing or equivalent
- Lean manufacturing practices ( Kanban, Poke-Yoke, JIT, Value Stream Mapping)
- Experience with Assembly Operations, Metal Machining processes and tool design
- Ability to think progressively and creatively while keeping the future of the company and its employees in mind
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration capabilities
- Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong Communication skills (written and public speaking)
