An order processing technician enters orders placed by the customer into the system for manufacturing. This includes interpreting product specifications and researching drawings. This is the entry level for order processing with opportunities to learn more technical aspects of order processing and promote to higher levels within the department. Confidentiality is a must due to the sensitivity nature of various competitive and industry documents and materials this position will be in contact with.

Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s degree in general business or management, preferred
Experience:
Hollow metal manufacturing experience, preferred
Other:
- Blueprint/template reading skills required.
- Strong basic math skills required.
- Excellent personal computer skills preferred (Word, Excel, Internet, email, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic Geometry and Algebra math skills, preferred.
- AutoCAD skills preferred.
- Good organizational, planning and follow-up skills.
- Must be willing to work in a fast-paced, intense environment
- Must have the ability to complete assignments with a sense of urgency
- Must be able to interact effectively with customers
- Job Duties & Requirements (included but not limited to the following):
- Perform all duties relating to the processing of customer orders. Orders range from basic stock to the highest level of configured orders and detailing.
- Handle technical inquiries from manufacturing and customers
- Communicate with customers on discrepancies and/or application conflicts.
- Provide technical and problem solving support to manufacturing and customers.
- Pricing of standard and special products.
- Calculate lead times based on product types.
- Interpret hardware templates and prepared detailed drawings for manufacturing requirements.
- Review order forms and prepare order for processing.
- Negotiate stock issues with customers as they arise.
- Must be able to work overtime, especially during peak times of the year.
