What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Drafter position at ASSA ABLOY Group and Careers?
Lawrence Doors, Inc., a leader in the commercial door industry, and a part of Amarr / ASSA ABLOY Group (the global leader in opening solutions), is seeking a manufacturing drafter with some electrical knowledge, preferably from the commercial and industrial door field to work at our manufacturing plant in Baldwin Park.
Must be dependable, mechanical, able to read dimensions and use a tape measure.

The candidate must possess a positive and helpful attitude, be self-motivated, with knowledge in metal fabrication, manufacturing process understanding, experience with SolidWorks, Draft sight or similar computer programs preferred. Mechanical engineering experience preferred.

Compensation:
- Starting wage depends on experience, between $25.00 to $34.00 per hour

Duties:
- Assist providing drawings for:
- Fabrication
- Assembly
- Approval
- Standards
- As-builts
- Generating standard work orders
- Work on product design and improving manufacturing processes
- Mechanical and Electrical Technical Support to people installing our product
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience with SolidWorks in a production environment.
- Ability to multitask and work on a range of projects.
- Strong initiative and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Basic use of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Mathematics and measurements skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in a production metal working or field work environment
- Strong proficiency with SolidWorks modeling of parts, assemblies, and drawings
- Mechanical and Electrical knowledgeable
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Junior College - technical focus, trade school or Engineering
