- Performs a mixture of routine and multiple and varying assignments under the limited direction of a Technical Manager or more experienced computer scientist or engineer.
- Acts as an individual contributor and/or member of a team.
- May perform some leadership functions for small projects/programs/teams.
- Applies experience and detailed technical knowledge applicable to plan and accomplish assignments.
- Demonstrates some independence in planning time and using assigned resources to accomplish assignments and small projects.
- Works with other employees, both contract and federal, to share information, provide data and/or written analyses, and discuss the statuses of assignments.
- Typically receives guidance on selecting approach from a Technical Manager or more experienced computer scientist or engineer.
- May provide recommendations to improve work processes.
- Frequently refers difficult problems and work issues to a Technical Manager or more experienced computer scientist or engineer when guidelines are not available or applicable.
- Work is reviewed periodically during assignments and at completion to ensure timeliness and technical compliance with the requirements of the project or other work activity.
- Work activities may affect project/program objectives for external organizations. In some areas, the work may affect the safety and security of customers.
All candidates must have the following to pass the Federal Background Investigation and obtain the FAA Public Trust security clearance.
- Be a US Citizen, have a US Green Card, or a Non-immigrant Work Authorization (VISA).
- Has resided in the US for three (3) consecutive years.
- RealID Driver’s License/ID or current US Passport.

Education And Years Of Experience Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related IT fields, with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.
- Three (3) to six (6) years of related work experience is required. For the right candidate, one (1) to three (3) years of related work experience may be considered.
- Knowledge/experience in:
- Strong coding skills in scripting languages (e.g., Ansible, Python, Bash). All network administration tasks are conducted through these scripts.
- Version Control (e.g., Git via command line)
- RHEL System Administration
- Has or has the ability to:
- Work in a fast-paced environment, be detail oriented, willing to take initiative, self-motivated in learning, research, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent verbal, written, and customer relations skills.
- Strong interpersonal/team working skills.
- Knowledge/experience in:
- F5 Networking
- Private/Public key concepts and certificate management
- Load Balancers
- DMZs
Essential Job Duties
- Provide 2nd Level Engineering to the IAM FAA Program.
- Ansible coding to conduct majority of System/Network Administration tasks.
- RHEL environment System Administration; networking.
- Management of: PKI Infrastructure, Ansible/Python scripts, DMZs, F5s, IPs.
- Participate in meetings, code reviews, etc.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing Linux environment.
- On-site with a standard flexible work schedule.
- Occasional non-standard work hours (e.g. nights) and travel may be requested.
- Cubicle environment.
