ASRC Federal Technology Solutions is seeking a Graphic Designer to support the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Readiness Support Center in Mobile, Alabama.

The RSC develops and maintains the training and exercise program that prepares national cadres of teams and individuals to perform mission-essential duties in the federal disaster response environment, supporting FEMA Stafford Act missions, Flood Control and Coastal Emergencies under Public Law 84-99, Dam Safety, and Silver Jackets and Flood Risk Management programs.

The Graphic Designer produces the visual and text-based communication products that carry this training content to emergency managers, responders, and federal, state, tribal and local partners. This is a senior individual-contributor role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design fact sheets, infographics, brochures, booklets, visual aids, and multi-page reports supporting the Contingency Responder curriculum, training, and exercise products
  • Create graphics that explain technical concepts for USACE dam and levee projects to non-technical audiences
  • Develop animation and motion graphic elements for short-form video products
  • Draft and revise text-based copy, scripts, and content that is clear, compelling, accessible to varied audiences, and grammatically correct
  • Produce all deliverables in both an editable version for USACE use and a non-alterable version formatted for public release across multiple digital platforms
  • Incorporate government review comments through up to five rounds of edits per product, tracking each comment and its resolution
  • Ensure all electronic and information technology deliverables meet Section 508 accessibility standards at 36 CFR 1194
  • Adapt materials for broad audiences, including multi-language production and audience segmentation to tailor resources to the intended end user
  • Maintain internal quality control documentation in a form auditable by USACE personnel
  • Contribute to monthly progress reports identifying tasks required, performed, and completed

Required Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of professional graphic design experience
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field, or an equivalent professional portfolio
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Demonstrated experience producing Section 508 compliant materials
  • Strong written English: grammar, spelling, capitalization, and punctuation sufficient to identify and correct errors independently
  • Ability to pass E-Verify and provide two valid forms of government-issued identification
  • Must be able to pass Tier 1 investigation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior federal or Department of Defense experience, including familiarity with DoD branding standards
  • Experience in emergency management, flood risk, or public safety communication
  • Motion graphics production using Adobe After Effects or equivalent
  • Experience developing materials in multiple languages
  • Web design experience
  • Familiarity with ESRI products and map overlays

Work Environment

  • Normal working hours are 0630 to 1715, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays
  • Occasional work outside normal hours may be required to meet deliverable deadlines
  • Contractor personnel identify themselves as contractors in all interactions, display company identification, and include the company name in their email display
  • This is a non-personal services position. The incumbent is supervised by ASRC Federal, not by government personnel
