We are currently seeking a CHAPLAIN to work for the Aspirus at Home Hospice program in Hancock, Michigan.
The Chaplain provides pastoral care and counseling on an ecumenical basis to Aspirus patients, their family members, and staff. Establishes working relationships with community clergy and supports their participation in developing and providing spiritual care for their faith community. Supports the hospital’s CPE programs and students.
Experience/Qualifications/Licensure
- Knowledge of theology, religious traditions, practices and beliefs, and spirituality normally acquired through completion of a Graduate Degree from an accredited theological school or college.
- Clinical pastoral education accredited by ACPE beneficial.
- A minimum of four (4) units of clinical pastoral education beneficial.
- A minimum of two years of parish or parish-related experience necessary to enhance and develop skills.
- Four to six years of parish experience and prior pastoral experience in a general hospital beneficial.
- Possesses general knowledge of behavioral sciences and health care, with the ability to integrate that knowledge with religious faith and practice.
Licensure
- Ordination, ecclesiastical endorsement, and certification by the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) or the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) beneficial.
- Certification as Fellow in APC or NACC beneficial.
- Valid Driver's License required.
- Possesses automobile liability insurance with minimum $100,000/$300,000 coverage required, or $300,000 combined single-limit liability.
- Has an acceptable driving record.
Hours: This position is Part Time; 0.6 FTE or 48 hours per pay period. Day Shift.
