Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital in Laurium, MI is seeking a PHARMACY CLERK to join our team
The Pharmacy Clerk is responsible for running the cash register and elements of the pharmacy deposit. Maintains impeccable standards of confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness. Is expected to initiate exceptional working relationships with all of Aspirus Keweenaw Pharmacies' customers (patients, physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.) Transports pharmacy supplies to and from departments from the Aspirus Keweenaw Pharmacies.
HOURS: Occasional/as needed.
Experience/Qualifications
- Required basic knowledge of medications including brand/generic names, normal dosage forms and medication insurances/billing nuances. (May learn on-the-job)
- Necessary computer skills including typing and the ability to learn proprietary software such as McKesson Pharmaserve. General knowledge of programs such as Excel and Word is beneficial. (May learn on-the-job)
- Necessary cash register skills including ringing patients up, trouble-shooting, and entering miscellaneous items into system.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Yearly competencies in Blood and Potentially Infectious Materials, Preventing Tuberculosis, Fire Safety, Working with Hazardous Chemicals, Disaster and Emergency Preparedness, Patient Rights, CMS Fraud Waste & Abuse, Confidentiality and HIPAA must be completed prior to working in a healthcare organization.
- Valid MI Drivers license required
- Customer service experience preferred.
