Role Description The Maintenance Mechanic is a full-time, on-site role based in Eagle River, WI. This position is responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance on building systems, equipment, and infrastructure to ensure a safe, reliable, and efficient environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Day-to-day tasks include troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, completing scheduled inspections, conducting repairs and adjustments, and performing preventive maintenance on a variety of hospital and facility equipment. The role also involves documenting work performed, following safety and regulatory standards, coordinating with clinical and non-clinical departments to minimize downtime, and supporting facility improvement projects. The Maintenance Mechanic works collaboratively with the facilities team, responds to maintenance requests in a timely manner, and participates in on-call or shift coverage as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Equipment Maintenance and Industrial Maintenance for healthcare or similar facilities.
- Proficiency in Preventive Maintenance, including scheduled inspections, servicing, and system monitoring.
- Experience with Corrective Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair, including troubleshooting and resolving mechanical, electrical, and structural issues.
- Knowledge of building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems; ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Commitment to safety practices, regulatory compliance, and quality standards in a healthcare environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate work with clinical and support staff.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance, industrial technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience as a maintenance mechanic or in facilities operations, ideally in healthcare or a complex building setting.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, and working in varied environmental conditions, following safety guidelines.
