ASSOCIATE CHAPLAIN

We are seeking an ASSOCIATE CHAPLAIN in Woodruff, Wisconsin at Howard Young Medical Center. The Chaplain provides pastoral care and counseling on an ecumenical basis to Aspirus patients, their family members and staff. Establishes working relationships with community clergy and supports their participation in developing and providing spiritual care for their faith community.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of theology, religious traditions, practices and beliefs, and spirituality normally acquired through completion of a Graduate Degree from an accredited theological school or college.
• Knowledge of religious practices and beliefs normally acquired through completion of theological education beyond a bachelor’s degree. A Master’s degree is preferred.
• A minimum of four (4) successfully completed units of clinical pastoral education.
• Clinical pastoral education accredited by ACPE preferred.
• A minimum of two years of parish or parish-related experience necessary to enhance and develop skills.
• Four to six years of parish experience and prior pastoral experience in a general hospital beneficial.
• Ordination, ecclesiastical endorsement, and certification by the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) or the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) beneficial.
• Possesses general knowledge of behavioral sciences and health care, with the ability to integrate that knowledge with religious faith and practice.

Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday, day shift. 64 hours per pay period. Benefits package available.

Howard Young Medical Center is an acute care facility located in Woodruff that provides a level of primary and specialty care not commonly found in a typical rural hospital.
