Roles & Responsibilities
Design & Implementation
- Support the development and implementation of advanced control systems for industrial equipment and machinery.
- Participate in customer-facing meetings, vendor discussions, design reviews, and project status meetings.
System Support
- Perform system support activities including laboratory and shop-floor setup, integration testing, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and site/customer acceptance testing (SAT).
Technical Support
- Troubleshoot control systems and associated equipment to minimize downtime and optimize operational performance.
- Provide technical support and guidance to field technicians, operations teams, and other support personnel.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all control systems comply with applicable industry safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
Collaboration
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and third-party teams to integrate new technologies and enhance existing control systems.
Documentation
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation including product documentation, functional requirements, software release documentation, commissioning procedures, and operational guidelines.
Training & Mentoring
- Train and mentor junior engineers on control system design, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Support field technicians with system deployment, setup, commissioning, and ongoing operational activities.
Required Skills
- Strong experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley preferred; Siemens experience also acceptable).
- Experience with SCADA systems and HMI development.
- Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), preferably ABB and GE/Converteam.
- Knowledge of Industrial PCs, Servers, networking, and communication protocols.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Knowledge of industry safety standards and regulations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Positive, solution-oriented attitude.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience designing and maintaining industrial control systems, preferably within drilling, oil & gas, or heavy equipment environments.
