Role: AI Architect
Location Washington, D.C. (Onsite - 4days/week)
Duration: 6 months contract
Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior AI Architect with strong experience in designing and deploying scalable AI/ML solutions in enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will lead the transition from Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to production-grade AI systems, while ensuring performance, scalability, and cost optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead enterprise-wide AI strategy and drive adoption of scalable AI solutions
- Design end-to-end AI/ML architectures including data ingestion, model training, deployment, and monitoring
- Evaluate and select appropriate AI technologies (Generative AI, NLP, Computer Vision, Deep Learning) based on business needs
- Implement MLOps frameworks for CI/CD, continuous training, and model monitoring
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to build robust data pipelines, vector databases, and RAG-based systems
- Optimize infrastructure and manage costs for AI workloads (GPU usage, token optimization, etc.)
- Establish AI governance, security, and compliance standards (e.g., data privacy, model fairness, risk mitigation)
- Communicate AI strategies and insights effectively to leadership and non-technical stakeholders
Required Skills & Experience:
- 8–10 years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or architecture
- 4 years of hands-on experience in AI/ML system design and production deployment
- Strong experience with AI/ML frameworks and Generative AI technologies
- Solid understanding of MLOps practices and cloud-based AI infrastructure
- Experience with SQL and data warehousing tools (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery)
- Expertise in building scalable AI pipelines and RAG architectures
- Proven ability to optimize AI infrastructure costs and performance
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Nice to Have:
- Experience with AI governance, compliance, and ethical AI frameworks
- Exposure to enterprise-scale AI transformations
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA)
