Community Coordinator- Service Activity with Youth
Minimum Qualifications: Must have at least an Associate’s Degree in a Human Services related field, or a high school diploma with at least one year of Human Service experience. Previous experience working with at-risk/court-involved youth or in community service/employment work sites preferred.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Coaching and Counseling
- Assist youth with completing vocational assessments, exploring career options, submitting job applications,
building a portfolio/resume, and practicing interviewing skills.
- Accompany youth to community worksites and work with youth at work site locations.
- Help youth gain a better understanding of the impact of their actions or non-actions on others and accept
accountability for repairing harms.
- Assist youth with building interpersonal skills to maintain placement
- Provide assertive communication and anger management skills training as needed
- Deliver services to youth both in group settings and one-on-one settings
- Help youth build solid decision-making skills while exploring his/her current life stressors
- Link youth and their family to needed resources available in the community
- Act as a mentor, encourager, and celebrator of youth success
Administrative
- Spend up to two office days per week (one for PT) on documentation of intakes, youth/family contacts, treatment
team member contacts, worksites, hours worked, tasks completed, and progress on Individual Service Plan goals
- Send out confirmation to parents regarding students via text as well as phone calls.
Team support
- Create weekly schedule by communicating with fellow co-workers on a daily basis to know what days, where and
how many students will be transported to which locations.
- Participate in meetings with supervisors and managers as requested.
Job Placements
- Establish and maintain relationships with potential worksites
- Match youth strengths with worksite needs
- Monitor/document youth progress regularly after placement is secured to address any issues
- Schedule youth for each worksite until the youth becomes an employee of the site
- Role model appropriate and expected behavior of youth and others in the worksite placement
Agency Representation and Program Support
- Assist in ongoing development and refining of Aspire Youth and Family programs
- Communicate any concerns, problems, or strengths of the program to the Aspire Youth and Family Leadership
Team
- Complete all necessary training
Hours- 20-30 hours a week and Saturday's
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
