Program Assistant – Aspire After School Program

Seeking a passionate, dependable, and energetic Program Assistant to help create a safe, engaging, and inspiring after-school environment for elementary and middle school scholars.

Position Schedule
Monday–Friday | 1:30 PM – 6:00 PM
Approximately 28–30 hours per week

Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Program Assistant helps oversee daily after-school operations and supports staff in delivering high-quality enrichment, recreation, and academic activities in a structured and positive environment.
This role is ideal for someone who is organized, enthusiastic, and passionate about helping youth succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the daily flow and operations of the after-school program
- Supervise and support program staff throughout the day
- Monitor staff attendance and daily schedules
- Coordinate with the Site Coordinator to ensure smooth program operations
- Manage student sign-in/sign-out procedures and ensure scholar safety
- Build positive relationships with scholars, families, and staff
- Observe classrooms and support enrichment lessons, routines, and transitions
- Assist with activity planning and purchase requests
- Support snack and supper distribution/counts
- Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions
- Help create a fun, safe, and engaging learning environment
- Perform additional duties as assigned
We are Looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with elementary or middle school youth
- Brings creativity, positivity, and leadership to the program
- Can manage groups of 15–20 students effectively
- Communicates professionally with students, parents, and staff
- Works well independently and as part of a team
- Has strong classroom and behavior management skills
- Is passionate about student growth and social-emotional development
- Thinks outside the box when planning activities and enrichment opportunities
- The ablity to muliti task and adjust to change
- Able to problem solve and has conflict resolution skills
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with youth
- Must meet ONE of the following requirements:
- Have at least 48 college semester units (unofficial transcripts accepted), OR
- Pass the District proficiency exam
- TB Clearance required
- Must pass DOJ/FBI background clearance
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance required
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and actively supervise children
- Ability to stand, bend, and move frequently throughout the program day
