Position Overview:
The Restorative Nursing Assistant (RNA) works under the supervision of licensed nursing staff to carry out individualized restorative programs that help residents regain or maintain their highest level of function. The RNA promotes residents’ physical, emotional, and social well-being through encouragement, motivation, and hands-on assistance.
Responsibilities:
Implement restorative care programs as directed by the Restorative Nurse or Director of Nursing.
Assist residents with mobility, range of motion, ambulation, and other restorative exercises.
Encourage residents to participate in daily activities that promote independence and physical strength.
Accurately document restorative activities and residents’ progress in accordance with facility policies.
Communicate changes in resident condition or participation to nursing staff.
Maintain equipment used in restorative programs, ensuring cleanliness and safety.
Support CNAs and nursing staff with daily care needs as required.
Uphold resident rights, dignity, and privacy at all times.
Follow infection control, safety, and HIPAA policies consistently.
Qualifications:
Current CNA certification in good standing with Missouri.
Previous experience in long-term care or restorative care strongly preferred.
Excellent communication, observation, and documentation skills.
Compassionate, patient, and motivated to support resident independence.
