Position Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, the Medical Records LPN is responsible for maintaining accurate, complete, and compliant resident records from admission through discharge.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and maintain medical records for new admissions
- Enter resident information and physician orders into the system
- Review MARs/TARs for accurate transcription
- Perform regular chart audits to ensure completeness and compliance
- Compile and close discharge records
- Ensure all required documentation and signatures are completed timely
- File, retrieve, and manage records in accordance with facility standards
- Support regulatory readiness and documentation accuracy
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required
- Long-term care experience preferred
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and physician orders
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude and compassion for the elderly and disabled population
