Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Radiology Technician to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures such as X-ray and DEXA scans, and adherence to established protocols.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, ensuring their comfort, and maintaining a respectful and reassuring presence throughout the examination.
- Operate complex imaging equipment safely and efficiently while following aseptic techniques and radiation safety guidelines to protect patients and staff.
- Collaborate with physicians and radiologists to ensure diagnostic evaluations are accurate and comprehensive.
- Maintain detailed records of procedures performed, images captured, and patient information in accordance with healthcare regulations.
- Assist in emergency situations within urgent care or Level I/Level II trauma centers by providing rapid diagnostic imaging support for trauma assessment.
- Ensure all imaging equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning optimally to deliver high-quality images consistently.
- Stay current with advancements in medical imaging technology and techniques through ongoing education and professional development.
- Adhere strictly to hospital policies regarding infection control, patient confidentiality, and safety standards at all times.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by communicating effectively with colleagues across departments such as emergency medicine, radiology, and nursing staff.
Qualifications
- Certification or licensure as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) or equivalent credential is required; additional certifications in nuclear medicine or sonography are highly desirable.
- Proven experience performing diagnostic radiology procedures within a hospital setting; experience in Level I Trauma Centers or emergency room environments is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation principles essential for accurate image acquisition.
- Proficiency in operating various imaging modalities including X-ray machines, DEXA scanners for bone density assessments, ultrasound equipment for sonography, and nuclear medicine cameras.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques necessary for procedures involving invasive or sterile environments.
- Ability to interpret basic imaging results under supervision; understanding of diagnostic radiology practices is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of diverse backgrounds and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
