The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for providing support to the Store Manager with management related duties in addition to furniture sales. Serves in the Manager on Duty role as needed including opening and closing the store. When serving in this role, provides leadership and direction to floor associates and ensures that store, merchandising, and customer service standards are continuously met. Drives the customer experience and ensures resolution of customer issues.

What You'll Do:

  • Drive store performance by supporting sales results, managing expenses, and overseeing key operations including merchandising, backroom, frontline, cash office, customer service, markdowns, scheduling, shipping, and receiving, with a strong focus on minimizing shrink and damages.
  • Furniture sales
  • Attract, recruit, and cultivate top talent by providing comprehensive training and ongoing development for Associates. Serve as a mentor and role model, fostering a supportive environment that ensures a positive and engaging experience for both Associates and customers.
  • Merchandising and Showroom Maintenance: Ensure the furniture showroom is visually appealing, properly tagged, and meets company brand standards.
  • Communicate and implement action plans for projects, targets, company initiatives, and store changes. Provide input on succession planning to meet future needs.
  • Staffing and Training: Assist in training, scheduling, and mentoring employees to improve performance.
  • Implement strategies to meet sales, expense, and customer service targets. Coordinate loss prevention and operational programs and improve store layout and efficiency.

About You:

  • Minimum of 2 years of retail leadership experience as an Assistant or Store Manager.(If you have retail Furniture Background then this will be accounted for when discussing salary and is Definitely a PLUS )
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and empower a Small team.
  • Ability to work a retail schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Interior design or sales experience/knowledge a plus but not required.
  • Physically able to be on your feet and move throughout our showrooms over an 8-12 hour work day.
  • Ability to maintain emotional composure in a professional business setting with customers, peers and management.
  • Strong work ethic and dependability a must
  • General computer proficiency
  • Professional dress code required
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with ability to influence and provide effective feedback and mentorship to others.
  • Proficient in store operations, customer service, merchandising, people management, health and safety, and loss prevention, with strong follow-through skills to successfully implement tasks and initiatives.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
