Qualifications
- Background or interest in Human Services, including working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to build trusting, professional relationships and collaborate with teams.
- Understanding of Intellectual Disabilities and willingness to learn person-centered approaches and behavior support strategies.
- Ability to participate in and apply Training, including first aid/CPR, crisis intervention, and agency-specific programs.
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in social services, psychology, or related fields is beneficial.
- Reliable transportation to and from the Akron, OH work site and community outings.
- Ability to lift, assist, and support individuals as needed and perform tasks that may require physical activity.
- Basic documentation and computer skills for recording services and communicating with the care team.
