What are the responsibilities and job description for the Upper-Level Tumbling Coach (Part-Time) | Aspen Tumbling, Payson, Utah position at Aspen Tumbling?
About Aspen Tumbling
Aspen Tumbling teaches Tumbling, Boy’s Tumbling & Parkour, Junior Gym, and Acro to kids from 18 months to 18 years. We cap every class at 8 kids, so our coaches actually coach: they spot every athlete and know every kid’s skills. We follow a progressive curriculum, so you’ll help develop lesson plans for higher levels to support that. Enrollment has grown fast this year, and we need an experienced coach to lead our advanced classes.
What you’ll do
- Coach our upper-level classes: Girl’s Tumbling 3, 4 & 5, and Acro (ages 7–18)
- Teach and safely spot advanced skills, including back handsprings, standing tucks, layouts, and twisting skills
- Help with skill evaluations for new students placing into level 2 and up as needed
- Follow our lesson plans and progressions, and help refine them as the upper-level program grows
- Track each athlete’s progress in our app and give parents direct, specific feedback
- Keep the floor safe and help with end-of-class cleanup
Schedule
- Monday 3:20pm - 7:00 pm and Wednesday 3:30pm - 7:40pm
- We’re looking for someone who can commit for at least one year. Our athletes progress best with a consistent coach.
Required
- Experience coaching gymnastics, tumbling, or cheer, including spotting round-off back handsprings and standing tucks or higher
- Ability to pass a background check
- Current CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to get it before your first class
- Clear, upbeat communication with kids and parents
- Reliability: showing up on time, every scheduled shift
Preferred
- SafeSport / USA Gymnastics Safety certification
- Experience coaching twisting skills, competitive tumbling, cheer, or Acro partner work
- Experience evaluating and placing athletes by level
How to apply
Send your resume and a few sentences about the highest skills you’ve coached and spotted to contact@aspentumbling.com, or apply here. Include the days and times you’re available.
Practical: Qualified applicants will be invited to a practical, where you’ll join one of our real upper-level classes as a support coach. You’ll work alongside our team, help spot, and coach athletes on the floor. It’s a chance for us to see you in action, and for you to get a feel for our gym, our kids, and how we coach before committing.
Pay
$18–$28/hour starting. Where you start depends on the highest skills you can safely spot, your coaching experience, and certifications. Coaches with advanced spotting and competitive or acro experience start at the top of the range.
