What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Outreach Canvasser position at ASPEN OF DC INC?
ADC Management Solutions is looking for spirited community outreach canvassers to assist with spreading awareness of DC Water's Lead Free DC Project. This requires excellent communication skills, customer service and some marketing knowledge.
CANVASSER DUTIES:
• Go door-to-door to introduce the project to customers and make cold calls to follow-up. (MUST HAVE WORKING VEHICLE & VALID DRIVERS LICENSE)
• Demonstrate a vast knowledge of the project being canvassed to convince people to sign agreements
• Get information, such as contact details and signatures, from potential leads and clients for follow-up
• Confidently answer questions and rebuff excuses to meet objectives
• Recruit, train, onboard and mentor new Canvassers
• Attend industry events and exhibitions including fairs, rallies and shows
• Consistently meet daily and weekly quotas for client information and signature acquisition
A typical day starts by participating in one or more meetings about the goals for the day/week, tasks to complete and assignment locations. You will work in groups/pairs, walking through residential neighborhoods to leave flyers and talk with residents. You will complete cold calls in the office to help obtain further information from constituents. You will also enter data into spreadsheets for use in future research.
Qualifications:QUALIFICATIONS
- MUST BE A DC RESIDENT
- MUST HAVE A WORKING VEHICLE / VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills including eloquence, active listening and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work within a team and independently based on employer requirements
- Good time management skills to fulfill quotas within a specific period
- Must have physical stamina to stand and walk for long periods, meeting and talking to people
