JOB DESCRIPTION

Aspen Infusion is a locally owned and operated home infusion company based in Arizona, specializing in Antibiotics and TPN therapy. Licensed by the State of Arizona Board of Pharmacy and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC), we are dedicated to providing the highest quality home infusion services. ROLE SUMMARY:

This is a full-time role for a Home Infusion Nurse. The Home Infusion Nurse will be responsible for providing direct patient care, administering home infusion therapies, and managing patient needs to ensure optimal health outcomes. The role involves educating patients and caregivers, monitoring treatment progress, and collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver personalized care plans. The nurse will work closely with patients in their homes to ensure comfort and adherence to treatment protocols.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assesses patients prior to provision of care.
  • Provides ongoing assessment of the patient and patient’s equipment needs.
  • Initiates timely discharges.
  • Educates and instructs the patient, patient’s family, or staff as required; counsels patient and family in meeting patient’s needs and goals.
  • Prepares timely, legible, and complete documentation of all care, interventions, and care coordination as provided by law, regulation, and established policy; returns documentation to office/department according to established policy.
  • Demonstrates an awareness of and sensitivity to patient/family rights.
  • Applies safety principles as identified by established policy.
  • Participates in the orientation and training of new staff.
  • Participates in care coordination meetings.
  • Participates in continuing education to continually improve skills and abilities and stay abreast of current technologies/practices.
  • Ensures compliance with legal issue including but not limited to patient confidentiality and risk management; ensures compliance with JCAHO, federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Exhibits a high degree of courtesy, tact, and poise when interacting with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Adjusts to fluctuating peaks in patient flow, acuity, and other operational demands while maintaining quality.
  • Participate in the Performance Improvement program as requested by the Performance Improvement Coordinator.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess current state RN license and CPR certification.
  • Minimum of one-year related experience or equivalent; infusion nursing experience is preferred.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
  • Demonstrated competence in reacting to and handling emergencies.
  • Strong charting/documentation skills.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to established policies, procedures, and protocols.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Occasionally/Frequently/Continually required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear
  • Occasionally/Frequently/Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
  • Occasionally/Frequently/Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard
  • Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items less than 25 pounds
  • Frequent exposure to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials
